Third delivery of the Letter of Peace
to the United Nations

In this occasion, it was the general vice-secretary, Mrs. Louise Frechette, who received the delegation of the Letter of Peace, representing Mr. Kofi Annan, present Secretary General of the UN. Present in the ceremony chaired by Maria Vinas, coordinator of the Letter of Peace, were also Elena Caballé, manager of the Ambito Maria Corral, Nina Sibal, Unesco lisassion Director’s Office in New York., Juli Minoves, ambassador of Andorra to the United Nations, Agustín Viñas, member of the Patronage of the Universitas Albertiana, and Jose Luis Socías, Co-author of the Letter of Peace. It was him who explained to the General Vice-secretary the content of the documents and work conducted during 1996 and 1997.

  Commemorative dinner at the Hotel Marriot
New York, 29th October, 1998
 
On the occasion of the third delivery of the Letter of Peace to the General Secretary of the United Nations, on the same night, a dinner took place in the well known restaurant of the Marriot Hotel of New York.

The party began with some speeches made by relevant personalities who were present at the morning act in the headquarters of United Nations. The dinner was moderated by Mrs. Assumpta Sendra, delegated of the Letter of Peace in the United States.

There intervened Arturo Laclaustra, Ambassador attached representative at the Delegation of Spain before United Nations; Antón Cañelles, Síndic de Greuges of Catalonia; Grace L. Griffenberg, Defender of the People of New York; Carlos Contreras, Executive Secretary of the South American Commission of Peace, Security and Democracy; and Juan Miguel Gonzalez-Feria, Co-founder of the Universitas Albertiana.

On having finished the dinner, and for CODORNIU's gentility, representative persons who were at the dinner drank a few toasts: Mr Conrad Adillon, President of Friends of Catalonia in New York; Jose Luís Fernandez, member of the Patronage of the Universitas Albertiana; Mr. León Mayoral delegated of the Letter of Peace in Hermosillo and Jordi Cussó, Director of the Universitas Albertiana.

Also in the frame of this dinner there was done delivery of a facsimile of the memories of the Letter of Peace devoted to the United Nations, for the present representatives of UNESCO and Andorra forthwith. As well, a copy of the Letter of the Peace due bound was delivered to the representative of the Spanish Delegation before United Nations.
