I discovered the Letter of Peace when I attended a course on the Philosophy of Existential Realism. As it has done for many others, Existential Realism opened up a door for me to help me experience the joy of being alive; it helped to unfold a huge multicoloured fan that offered up a deeper, happier, more accepting, coherent and determined existence.

During these meetings we discussed the possibility of studying the Letter of Peace text further and we realised what a gift we had in our hands. Starting with personal peace to go on from there and open ourselves to society. I could immediately see how tangible, clear and sensible it was and I wished that everyone could know about it in order to consolidate peace! The kind of peace that leads to celebration.

And so, full of enthusiasm for this newfound gift, we wanted to offer the Letter of Peace to all the people in Andalucía interested in tuning into its message. This desire lead to plays, solemn presentations, storytelling, training courses, magazines, collecting signatures, discussion groups… that have all been organised by the Letter of Peace Andalucía over the past five years. So much work! Who ever said it would be easy to achieve peace?

Every day I find different ways to apply this document in my life and I feel very lucky to have been able to savour its content, because it shed light on me and made me want to carry on. All the activities that are generated by the Letter of Peace make it clear that this is a live document that renews, shakes up and moves people, the very effect it continues to have on me every day.
