BARCELONA - SPAIN. The Letter of Peace addressed to the UN Foundation has published its 2010 Annual Report, which focuses on the activity of different Peace Institutes that celebrated the bicentenary of independence in a number of Latin American countries. The focal point was to look at solid foundations for Disarming History. Within the countries that have commemorated two centuries of independence there are still deep wounds and gashes, and in many cases the population is still divided, having never carried out a sufficiently deep process of reconciliation to allow society to develop harmoniously.

The Annual Report also describes the work inspired and carried out by the Letter of Peace Foundation, and highlights the first Peace Route in China; the continuity and development of educational programmes and postgraduate courses in Peace Culture in different universities; and the consolidation of new Peace Institutes. In 2010 we took a definite step towards digital technology, we created new sections in the World in the Key of Peace Portal and we now have a greater presence on social networks.

The report explains the different work that has been carried out in the following areas; Peace Pedagogy, Geopeace, and promotion of the Letter of Peace addressed to the UN, tasks which have been completed, as is the case every year, with much help from volunteers, sponsors, public and private organisations, whose generous contributions make it possible to help build peace in the world.
